IS 3M CONTROLLING WHAT YOU CAN READ?

UPDATE 09/28/05:   It appears that as of today, Google has once again "allowed" their search engines to mine and collect information from this website as it first did back when the site was first established in 2003.  The priority Google has allowed its robots during mining of this site is anyone's guess but the main issue is that search strings related to aldara1.com are once again represented on Google.  Long time returning.... Thanks Google......

A history of this problem is outlined below:

UPDATE 03/23/05:  Google is by far the most prominent search firm on the Internet today.  Yet, aldara1.com continues to be "under reported" on its engines.  A recent check established that the Google proprietary html code found earlier in 3M's website code is now mysteriously "missing".  Just as mysterious, this took place shortly after my breaking the news (see BACKGROUND below) of finding this code and the close relationship 3M has with Google. The GoogleBot text robot still randomly  hits aldara1.com but in most cases leaves before accessing "any" files to the site which means it is being told to "skip" this site in its search.  The following is a comparison between Google and Yahoo search robots that have occurred since this site was first established in September of 2003.

282 - instances of Google robot   vs   529 - instances of Yahoo robot

A check on 4/06/05 shows that the Google robot hit this site just 2 times in March 05 compared to 29 times by the Yahoo robot during the same period.

I might add that the majority of Google hits were made prior to February 2004 while Yahoo hits remain constant to date.  And Yahoo opens files and enters pages on "every" visit.  Still today, Google is knowingly and purposely suppressing this site as evidenced by the site logs which do not lie.  Google fronts its service as being the leader in the industry yet Yahoo searches yield 10-fold more results for this site utilizing like text strings and in most cases places this site within the top 5 search results out of 100's of thousands of possible returns.  You draw your own conclusions on what's going on between Google and 3M Pharmaceuticals on this issue.  If you have not been following this story please read the background below to gain a full understanding of how Google and 3M are possibly conspiring to suppress your ability to find and study the information on this site.

BACKGROUND

I am pleased that you found your way to this site, but whatever brought you here I can say one thing for certain - you did not find it through a search on Google™. This site now ranks very high in results for searches related to Aldara on all search engines I have tried - except Google™.

Aldara1.com first appeared on the internet on August 9, 2003. The site began appearing in search results on all the search engines almost immediately and within a few months Aldara1.com had moved near the top of the results listings in both Google™ and Yahoo™. Search strings such as "side effects of Aldara", "side effects with aldara", and "side effects with aldera" became very high on Google. I kept documentation in the form of print-outs.

By February of 2004, however, Aldara1.com had disappeared from all search results on Google™. It still appeared prominently on all other search engines, but absolutely nothing was available through Google™. I began to seek an explanation of how, and why, this might have occurred. I found that Google™, and probably all search engines, are able to filter search results to exclude certain sites. It appears that Google™ had begun filtering Aldara1.com from the search results listing. Inquiries to Google™ did not produce convincing answers.

At the same time I began examining the html code in the 3M website. I found that the 3M website includes a proprietary code provided by Google™ to those who pay Google™ for prominent placement of their sites in search results. At that point I realized that 3M had a means to influence whether Aldara1.com appeared in Google™ searches. 3M has made it clear it does not like this site, so there was motive as well.

Did 3M exert influence to remove Aldara1.com from Google™ search results? Did Google™ agree to filter out Aldara1.com? I can only raise the questions and conjecture about the answers. The evidence is circumstantial, but I can think of no other explanation. I am very disturbed by the possibility that a large pharmaceutical company is pulling strings to try to block access to information they do not want you to know.
